“This mortal form grows weak. I require sustenance!” roars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Norse god and upcoming Avenger, and just another Marvel superhero to join the ranks of freakin’ awesome. That’s right geeks, you read it–Kenneth Branagh’s Thor marvels (ooo, a pun!).
Now, I have to admit…when I saw the legendary Mjolnir (Thor’s powerful hammer, for non-geeks) appear at the end of Iron Man 2, I was a tad skeptical. Thor? How on earth are they going to adapt the Mighty Thor into a movie? Two words: Kenneth. Branagh.
For those unfamiliar, dear Kenneth is an actor/director best known for such Shakespearean works as Henry V, Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, and also Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (and five times winner of Witch Weekly’s Most Charming Smile Award). Needless to say, Branagh is one of those uber-talented British folk I love talking about. When I heard he was helming Thor, my previous skepticism flew out the window, and rightly so.
